Exploring for Diamonds in Brazil

Diamondiferous Paranatinga Kimberlite Field

Iciena Ventures Inc. Batovi diamond project covers over 220,000 hectares in Brazil's Paranatinga area. Building on the previous findings of DeBeers and Rio Tinto, Iciena has partnered with Chuck Fipke, an industry leading expert who has dedicated many years of exploration and research to this particular region in Brazil.

Diamond indicator minerals recovered from the project area show its potential to host diamondiferous kimberlites. Of particular interest is the presence of indicator minerals with compositions similar to those found in minerals that grow with large (50+ carat) diamonds.

The potential for the kimberlites to host large diamonds is further supported by the recovery of large alluvial diamonds downstream by local miners including a 300+ carat stone.

Airborne geophysical surveys completed over areas of anomalous diamond indicator minerals have identified targets potentially reflecting kimberlites. These targets are now ready to be drill tested.
